Frank Ruscitti, Sr., 54
CARLSBAD -- Frank Martin Ruscitti, Sr., 54, died of leukemia Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006.
Born on Aug. 29, 1952, in Milwaukee, Wis., he was a resident of Carlsbad for ten years.
Mr. Ruscitti was preceded in death by his father, Salvatore Ruscitti, in 1988. He is survived by his mother Barbara Ruscitti of Carlsbad; son and daughter-in-law Frank Ruscitti Jr. and Jeanette Ruscitti of Mission Viejo; sons Dominick Ruscitti of Phoenix and Anthony Ruscitti of Carlsbad; sisters Gina Ruscitti of Carlsbad and Leslee Ruscitti of Wisconsin; sister and brother-in-law Lisa and Richard Brockel of Wisconsin; and one grandchild.
A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 12 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 3821 Adams Street, Carlsbad. Rev. Ricardo Chinchilla will officiate. Interment will be private.

Kenneth Sether, 77
VISTA -- Kenneth R. Sether, 77, died at home Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006.
Born Aug. 26, 1929, in Brooklyn, N. Y., he lived in Vista for 18 years. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. He retired from the Department of Defense in 1982. He was a member of the Vista Elks Lodge.
Mr. Sether was preceded in death by his brother, Stewart Sether, in 1985. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Phyllis Sether of Vista; stepson Michael Suit of Eugene, Ore.; daughter and son-in-law Debra and Gerald Hewett of Temecula; daughter Suzanne Hunter of Medford, Ore.; stepdaughter Alma Druse of Hot Springs, Ark.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
There will be a private family burial at Riverside National Cemetery on Oct. 24.

Royce Harper, 75
CARLSBAD -- Royce Arlen Harper, 75, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006.
Born on May 3, 1931, in Anniston, Ala., he was a resident of Carlsbad for 20 years. He served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from R. E. Hazard Contracting on Dec. 31, 1998.
Mr. Harper was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Carol Harper, on Jan. 30, 2006. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Karen and Michael Maule of Vista and Jill and Brian Ackerman of Temecula; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
There will be a memorial service at 1 p.m. Oct. 13 at Eternal Hills Memorial Chapel, 1999 El Camino Real, Oceanside. Inurnment at Ft. Rosecrans will follow at a later date.

Alberta Hubbard, 85
VISTA -- Alberta J. (Birdie) Hubbard, 85, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2006, at Tri-City Medical Center.
Born on March 23, 192, in Rome, N.Y., she lived in Vista for 30 years. She retired from a long career in business and restaurant management.
Mrs. Hubbard was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert C. Hubbard, in 1991. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Kim and Ron Schroder of Vista; and two grandchildren.
There will be a private cremation.

Isabel Orosco, 74
VALLEY CENTER -- Isabel Orosco, 74, died of cancer Friday, Oct. 6, 2006.
Born on Nov. 19, 1932, in Anaheim, she lived on the San Pasqual Reservation in Valley Center for 18 years. She was a profession seamstress. After retiring she enjoyed making baby quilts and angels which she gave to many in the community.
Mrs. Orosco is survived by her husband of 51 years, Alfonzo G. Orosco; daughter Cynthia A. Orosco; daughters and sons-in-law Marian O. and Guy Garvin, Marilyn O. and Daniel Lycett and Suzanne and Pete Ganatta; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
There will be a viewing from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 10 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. A Rosary will follow.
A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Oct.11 followed by interment at San Pasqual Reservation Cemetery.
Rosamund De Bruin, 83
OCEANSIDE -- Rosamund L. De Bruin, 83, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2006.
Born on Sept. 9. 1923. in Wilmar, Minn., she lived in Oceanside for 20 years. She enjoyed puzzles, crosswords, reading and traveling. She was a good cook. and she loved the outdoors and nature.
Mrs. De Bruin is survived by her husband of 29 years, Jack De Bruin of Oceanside. She is also survived by family in the Midwest and in Norway.

Lee Garich, 84
ESCONDIDO -- Lee Frank Garich, 84, died of natural causes Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006.
Born on June 19, 1922, in Kansas City, Mo., he lived in Escondido for six years. He earned a degree in Pharmacy from the University of Kansas. He was past president of the San Diego Pharmaceutical Association. He was a lieutenant and pilot in the U, S, Army Air Corps and U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a charter member of the Del Cerro Baptist Church and a member of the Neighborhood Church in Escondido.
Mr. Garich was preceded in death by Geraldine Garich in 2000. He is survived by his wife of twelve years Arlene Swenson-Garich of Escondido; sons Jerry Lee Garich of Fallbrook and Peter Bryce Garich of San Diego; daughter and son-in-law Susan Lynne Garich-Masse and Thomas Masse of Bristol, R.I.; brother and sister-in-law Edward and Jeryn Garich of Stewart, Fla.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
There will be a memorial service at 3 p.m. Oct. 15, at Lawrence Welk Champagne Village Hall in Escondido.

Patricia Butler, 70
VISTA -- Patricia Butler, 70, died of Alzheimer's disease Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006.
Born on April 3, 1936, in New York City, she was a homemaker for 47 years. She loved to travel and go camping and to the beach. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy and listening to classical music.
Mrs. Butler is survived by her husband of 28 years, Henry Butler of Vista; sons and daughters-in-law Mark and April Abbruscato, Steve and Pam Abbruscato and Jeff and Betty Abbruscato; daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Kenneth London; and seven grandchildren.
A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Oct. 20, at St. Mary's Star of the Sea in Oceanside.

William Wright, 96
FALLBROOK -- William D. Wright, 96, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006.
Born July 4, 1910 in London, he lived in Fallbrook for 25 years. He graduated from the London Nautical School and retired from the British Royal Navy as a lieutenant commander after 20 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II. He worked as an education officer for the government of Kenya for thirteen years. He enjoyed traveling, RVing, nature, gardening, stained glass work and other art.
Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his first wife Gladys Margaret Wright in 1971 and his second wife Kathleen Wright in 1998. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Judy and Ed Koscinski of Westlake Village; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service at 1 p.m. Oct. 16 at Berry-Bell & Hall, Fallbrook Mortuary, in Fallbrook.

SAN MARCOS -- Matthew Lance Hershey, 18, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, in Carlsbad.
Born on March 1, 1988, in Payson, Utah, he was a student at Palomar College. He graduated from Escondido Charter High School. He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Mr. Hershey is survived by his parents Kim and David Hershey of Centreville, Va.; brother Michael Hershey of San Marcos; sisters Brooke, Amber and BreAnna Hershey all of San Marcos; his grandparents and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
There will be a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Oct. 13 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in San Marcos. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Graveside services will be at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 13, at San Marcos Cemetery, San Marcos.

VISTA -- Pauline Louise Daggett, 83, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006.
Born July 30, 1923, in Alhambra, she lived in Vista for 18 years. She was employed by Roberto's Florists until 1982. She was a member of the Disciples of Christ church.
Mrs. Daggett is survived by her husband of 61 years, Frank Daggett of Vista; daughters and sons-in-law Marcia and James Huse of Silver City, N.M., and Denise Daggett and Gregory Gehrich of Rancho Santa Fe; daughters Lorrie Daggett of San Diego; brother Daniel Dutton of Oxnard; brothers and sisters-in-law William and Linda Dutton of Modesto and Thomas and Elna Dutton of Davis; sisters and brothers-in-law Mary and Murray Dosch of Portland, Ore., June and Kenneth Clark of Oxnard; sister Bettie Miller of Oxnard; and grandson Brian Daggett.

Charles Zinn, 72
ESCONDIDO -- Charles Fredrick Zinn, 72, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006, at Villa Monte Vista in Poway.
Born on Dec. 18, 1933, in Oregon, he lived in Escondido for eleven years. He was a banker. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Zinn is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol Ruth Zinn of Escondido; daughters Susan L. Grimes of Poway, Kathryn A. Lefebure of Desert Hot Springs and Jacquelyn K. Caterina of Kihei, Hawaii; sisters Charlotte A. Zinn of La Jolla, Marilyn J. Lamotte of San Diego and Evelyn K. Gillum of Weslaco, Tex.; and three grandchildren.
There will be a viewing from 4 to 8 p.m. Oct. 12 at Poway Bernardo Mortuary. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 13 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Escondido. Rev. James Rauch will officiate. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Riverside National Cemetery.

Haydee Natividad Clyne, 83
FOUNTAIN VALLEY -- Haydee Natividad Clyne, 83, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006, in Salt Lake City, Utah, of congestive heart failure.
Born Dec. 25, 1922, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she was a resident of Fountain Valley for 28 years. She worked in the Fountain Valley School District for five years and volunteered at Pacifica Hospital in Huntington Beach for 12 years.
Mrs. Clyne was preceded in death by her parents Jose and Rosa Carretto; brother, Leo Carretto and son, Jorge Pina.
Mrs. Clyne is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ernest Clyne of Salt Lake City, Utah; daughters, Adriana and Mike Hale of Murrieta, Dinah Corbett of Merced; sisters, Elsa and Luis Carid, and Nelly Torres of Buenos Aires, Argentina; grandchildren, Renee, Sean, Shawna, Tawny, Danielle, Christina, Samantha, Graham, Sarah and Christopher; and six great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service is planned in Murrieta. A private entombment is planned in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Suzanne C. Leary,
Suzie died at her home in Oceanside, Calif. on October, 9, 2006 at the age of 64 after a 7 year journey with ovarian cancer. She was cared for at home, and surrounded at death, by family and loving friends. San Diego Hospice staff was a wonderful support to her and her family.
Suzie was born in Minneapolis and grew up in Minnesota. She lived in Southern California for the last 36 years. She was the sole owner of SC Leary Printing and Graphics. She was a long-time volunteer in her community and a life-long, avid fan of Mickey Mouse and Disneyland.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Marian and her father James T. Leary, of New Brighton, Minnesota and her nephew, Jaxson Leary-Eisenman, Falls Church, Virginia.
She is survived by her brother, James J. (Joani), and sisters Jacquelyn Moschella (Frank) and Marjean (Janis), loving cousin Marilyn McClain, friend Sharon Myers, 6 nieces, 6 nephews, 6 grand nieces and nephews and her loyal canine buddy of 15 years, Scooter.
Cremation is being arranged through Oceanside Mortuary. A Catholic funeral mass for her will be celebrated on Thursday, October 12, 2006 at 2:00 pm at St Mary's, Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 609 Pier View Way, Oceanside, California, 92054. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Minnesota.

OCEANSIDE -- Ramon Cortez, 91, died of natural causes on Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, at La Paloma Healthcare.
Born Sept. 30, 1915, in Mexico City, he lived in North County for 65 years. He worked as a gardener in Rancho Santa Fe for 35 years until he retired in 1989. Prior to being a gardener he worked for Union Pacific Railroad.
Mr. Cortez was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Guadalupe Cortez, in 1994. He is survived by his daughters Lupe Cortez of San Marcos, Martha Flannery of Oceanside and Cristina Arnold of San Marcos; and four grandchildren.
Services will be private.

CARLSBAD -- Lois C. Henderson, 78, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, at Brighton Gardens, Carlsbad.
Born Jan. 25, 1928, in Norwood, Ohio, she lived in Carlsbad for 20 years.
Mrs. Henderson is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jack Henderson of Carlsbad; sons and daughters-in-law Lee and Wendy Henderson of Oceanside and Curt and Cindy Henderson of Plano, Texas; son Jay Henderson of El Dorado Hills; daughter and son-in-law Ernie James of Bolivar, Tenn.; brother and sister-in-law Jay and Peggy Curtright of Gilbert, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
