Andrew Richardson, 43
ENCINITAS - Andrew David Richardson, 43, died Thursday, June 22, 2006.
Born Dec. 3, 1962, in La Jolla, he lived in Encinitas for nine years. He worked at Ligett Development. He was a member of the Cardiff Fitness Club and Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu
Jitsu. He was a friend of Bill W. He enjoyed surfing and traveling.
Mr. Richardson is survived by his wife of nine years, Pamela Richardson of Encinitas; parents Sara and Bill Mena; daughter Tuffy Richardson of Encinitas; brother Tim Richardson of Mill Valley; and sister Caroline Healy of Santa Rosa.
A memorial is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 1, at the Stone Steps Look Out in Leucadia. A private cremation is planned.

Angel Gonzalez, 56
OCEANSIDE - Angel Gonzalez, 56, died Thursday, June 22, 2006, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
He was born June 17, 1950, in Jalisco. He retired in 2002 from Paul Ecke Poinsettia Ranch.
Mr. Gonzalez was preceded in death by his parents, Ma Isabel Aguilar and J. Jesus Gonzalez. He is survived by his wife, Maria de J. Gonzalez of Oceanside; son Jose Gonzalez of Oceanside; daughters Lorena Gonzalez Fabiny; brothers Salvador, Ricardo and Eddie Gonzalez; sister and brother-in-law Maricela and Marcos Garcia; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 9 p.m. today, June 27, at Eternal Hills Mortuary, 1999 El Camino Real in Oceanside. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, at Eternal Hills Mortuary. Burial will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
Clement Royer, 90
VISTA - Clement Lee Royer, 90, died Thursday, June 22, 2006.
Born July 31, 1915, in Missouri, he lived in Vista for 25 years. He retired in 1978 from the federal government. He served in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Royer was preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia Royer, in 1977; second wife Marjorie Royer in 2004; and son Larry Royer.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Ed Firoved of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and three grandchildren.
No services will be held at the request of the deceased.

Patricia Blount, 73
OCEANSIDE - Patricia Jean Blount, 73, died Saturday, June 24, 2006.
Born Dec. 22, 1932, in Wheatland, Wyo., she lived in Oceanside for six years. She was a member of the Oceanside Newcomers Club, the Ladies of the Elks and the Pacifica Homeowners Association. She was an usher and office volunteer at the First Presbyterian Church of Oceanside. She enjoyed playing bridge, bunco and pinochle.
Mrs. Blount was preceded in death by her sister, Diane Rizzo. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Travis Blount of Oceanside; sons and daughters-in-law Mike and Jennifer Nelson, Dan and Sally Blount, David and Jo Blount and Steve Blount; daughter Julie Rodriguez; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, at the First Presbyterian Church, 2001 S. El Camino Real in Oceanside.

Angela Heyser, 95
OCEANSIDE - Angela B. Heyser, 95, died of heart failure, Thursday, June 15, 2006, in Carlsbad.
Born Aug. 26, 1910, in Phoenix, she lived in Oceanside for 2 1/2 years. She had a farm in Bard, worked for the local school district, JC Penney and was an Avon representative. She was a member of the Campfire Girls. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, dancing and the piano.
Mrs. Heyser was preceded in death by her husband, Edward S. Heyser. She is survived by her daughter, Nona Hay; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Private inurnment is planned.
George Church, 80
LONGMONT, Colo. - George A. "Andy" Church, 80, died of natural causes, Sunday, June 25, 2006, at Life Care Center of Longmont.
Born Feb. 15, 1926, in Broadbay, N.C., he lived in Longmont for three years. He lived in Escondido for 22 years previously. He graduated from North Carolina State with a bachelor's degree in engineering. He then received a degree in science from the U.S. Navy Post Graduate School. He also graduated from the American Golf Academy. He served in the U.S. Navy for 34 years, in World War II, two tours in Vietnam and was captain of the USS Tarawa. He received numerous awards, including a Presidential Commendation with a Bronze Star. He was general manager of the Escondido County Club and retired in 2001. He enjoyed golf.
Mr. Church was preceded in death by his son, Drew Church; and parents Grant and Beatrice Church. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Rusty Krueger Church of Longmont; sons and daughter-in-law Charles and Mary Church of North Carolina, and Bret Rice of Arizona; daughter Melisa Pearce of Longmont; six brothers and sisters; and seven grandchildren.

Elizabeth Van Boxtel, 98
DEL MAR - Elizabeth Anne Croatt Van Boxtel, 98, died of natural causes, Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at Country Hills Center in El Cajon.
Born Dec. 6, 1907, in Hospers, Iowa, she lived in Del Mar for 42 years. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church of Solana Beach and the Del Mar Republican Women Federated. She volunteered for voter registration for many years. She was a retired seamstress. She enjoyed traveling and family reunions.
Mrs. Van Boxtel was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Henry Joseph Van Boxtel, in 1977; and sons Nicholas Van Boxtel in 2002, and Henry Van Boxtel in 2004. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Helen Van Boxtel of Encinitas, Marcel and Rose Van Boxtel of Del Mar, and Walter and Rose Ann Van Boxtel of San Miguel; daughter and son-in-law Marcella Grace and Fredrick Lange of El Cajon; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
A private celebration of life will be held Sunday, July 30.

Sara Maxwell, 37
FALLBROOK - Sara Christine Duratny Maxwell, 37, died of cancer, Thursday, June 22, 2006.
Born Aug. 6, 1968, in Racine, Wis., she lived in Fallbrook for 14 years.
Mrs. Maxwell was preceded in death by her father, Paul Duratny, in 1991.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Harry Eugene Maxwell of Fallbrook; mother Joan Duratny of Fallbrook; sons Justin, Jordan, Isaac and Caleb Maxwell, all of Fallbrook; daughter Olivia Christine Maxwell of Fallbrook; brother and sister-in-law Mathew and Adriana Duratny of Lake Elsinore; and special aunt and uncle Patty and Rod Carter of San Angelo, Texas.
Viewing is scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. and funeral service at 11:30 a.m. today, June 27, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Fallbrook.
Interment will follow at 12:45 p.m. at Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery.

Robert Sutherland, 90
OCEANSIDE - Robert W. Sutherland, 90, died Wednesday, June 21, 2006.
Born March 19, 1916, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, he lived in Oceanside for 24 years. He retired in 1982 as the owner of Bob's Maytag. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a sergeant during World War II. He was a school board officer. He was a member of El Camino Country Club and the Homeowners Association.
Mr. Sutherland was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Virginia Sutherland, in May 2006.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, James and Anna Sutherland of El Segundo; daughter and son-in-law Susan and Mel Wilmoth of Oceanside; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, June 29, at Eternal Hills Mortuary.

Marjorie Sitar, 80
CARLSBAD - Marjorie Ruth Anne Sitar, 80, died of congestive heart failure, Friday, June 23, 2006.
Born May 22, 1926, in Gary, Ind., she lived in Carlsbad for 11 years. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing scrabble.
Mrs. Sitar was preceded in death by her husband, August Sitar, in 2003; and sister Barbara Green in 2003.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Laura Sitar of Trabuco Canyon, Mark and Diane Sitar of Temecula, and Patrick Sitar of Kihei, Hawaii; daughters and son-in-law Nancy Simonian of Carlsbad and Kitty Sitar and husband Warren of Lakewood, Colo.; brothers and sisters-in-law Richard and Joyce Mathias of Renton, Wash., and Dave and Patti Mathias of Aliso Viejo; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Irwin Drut, 74
RANCHO BERNARDO - Irwin J. Drut, 74, died of complications from a stroke, Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at his home.
Born Aug. 23, 1931, in The Bronx, N.Y., he lived in Rancho Bernardo for 18 years. He received a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Michigan, in 1953, and an MBA from UCLA in 1966.
He was a retired service volunteer patrol for the San Diego Police Department. He served on the Rancho Bernardo Community Council as vice president from 2000 to 2002, and as vice president of the Rancho Bernardo Recreation Committee from 1994 to 1998.
He was a member of the International Order of Foresters and the Oaks North Lawn Bowling Club.
He was a stamp and coin collector.
Mr. Drut was preceded in death by his mother, Iris Drut Gersh, in 2004; and father Sol Drut in 1959.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Barbara Drut of Rancho Bernardo; sons and daughters-in-law Martin Drut and Janet Hamilton of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, Harvey and Tonija Drut of Palmdale, and Alan and Denise Drut of Granada Hills; and three grandchildren.
Private services and cremation are planned.
Mary Ann Kennedy
Mary Ann Kennedy died on Friday morning, June 23, 2006.
She was born on May 9, 1931, to Robert David Fraser and Magdalen Connor Fraser in Bradford, Pa. Her only sibling, Martha Fraser McHale, predeceased her in 1983.
Mary Ann was a graduate of St. Bernard School in Bradford, Pa.; held a Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma City University and a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences campus in Oklahoma City, Okla.
She married John Robert Kennedy in 1951. They were divorced in 1971 and she never remarried. Their four children are Ann Kathleen Tepper and her husband, Michael, of Hinsdale, N.H., Michael Connor Kennedy of Roswell, N.M., John Stewart Kennedy and his wife, Kiran, of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., and Brigid Fraser Kennedy of Oklahoma City, Okla.
During her career she worked at Touchstone School, at Corpus Christi Church and at Parent Child Development Center/Red Rock Mental Health Center in Oklahoma City. From 1984 to 1993 she worked in various health related positions in New Mexico. In 1993, she retired to California to be nearer her younger grandchildren. Mary Ann was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Parish in Carlsbad, Calif.
A memorial Mass will be held on June 28, 2006, at 10 a.m. She is survived by her four children and four grandchildren, Zoe, Jake and Emma Kennedy and Michael Vincent Tepper and his wife, Kirstie; and by her eight nieces and nephews and their families. Her body will be cremated.

George E. Haroldsen
George Edward Haroldsen, 85, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, June 22, 2006. His life was a testament of his love for the Lord Jesus Christ. "Well done thou good and faithful servant" (Mathew 25:21). He was dearly loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Born May 14, 1921, in Jersey City, New Jersey, George was a resident of the Tri-City area for 39 years. He obtained a bachelor of arts in biblical education, Magna Cum Laude, from Columbia Bible College, South Carolina, in 1949. Subsequently he obtained a Masters of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, Calif., in 1954, and became an ordained minister. He served in the Army Air Corps for four years during WWII. Following this he served in the Navy as chaplain for 20 years until he retired as a lieutenant commander in 1973. His chaplaincy included three tours of duty in Vietnam as well as tours in Japan and Hawaii. He also served as a chaplain at LA prison and LA Union Rescue Mission. Locally he served as an associate pastor to the First Baptist Church of Oceanside, was a practicing marriage, family and child counselor, served as chaplain for Tri-City Hospital, chaplain for Hospice of North Coast, and taught at Mira Costa College. He enjoyed reading, writing, woodworking and fellowship of family and friends.
Ruth, his wife of 53 years, preceded George in death. He is survived by a sister, Edna Caliendo of Raleigh, N.C.; three daughters, Patricia Kanehailua of Oceanside, Melody Hoeffs of Carlsbad and Debbie Lifsey of Glendale, Ariz.; two sons, David Haroldsen of Escondido, and Peter Haroldsen of Irvine; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for 12 p.m. (11:30 a.m. viewing) Friday, June 30, at Calvary Chapel of Vista, 885 East Vista Way, Vista, CA 92084. Immediately following will be a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. on The Lawn of the Folded Flags, Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Oceanside. Services will be conducted by Chaplain Joe Woods.

Alice Harvey, 78
ESCONDIDO - Alice Harvey, 78, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at home from natural causes.
She was born Alice Mae Carpenter on March 20, 1928, in the parlor (converted into a birthing room) at the family farmhouse in Greenville, Ohio.
In 1950, Alice met husband, Dick Harvey, on a blind date in Elkhart, Indiana, where she was working after completing Medical Secretarial School. They married later that year and moved to San Diego. While Dick went to San Diego State, Alice worked as a secretary in the Dean's office. In 1955, they moved to Escondido when Dick was hired to teach band at Lincoln and Central Elementary schools.
In 1958 she became the executive secretary for Colonel Irving Solomon and worked at Rancho Lilac until the day she passed away. She enjoyed playing cards, visiting the casinos, and traveling. Her home was dubbed "Hotel Harvey" by family and friends for the gracious hospitality she always extended.
Mrs. Harvey was preceded in death by her husband, Dick, in 2001. She is survived by children and spouses: Nicolette and Wayne Abernathy (Austin, Texas), Leah Harvey (Escondido), and Ken Harvey & Belinda Gaw (Poway); and by grandchildren Megan, Larry, Khelon, Sarah, Emily, Claire, Nikki, Danielle; and by great-grandchildren Allanah, Kalel, and Desiree; and by siblings Jack Carpenter and Phyllis Horton of Ohio; as well as extended family and friends.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday,
July 1, at Rancho Lilac, 31928 Lilac Road, Valley Center.
