Edward M. Romerdahl Jr., 28
Edward M. Romerdahl Jr., age 28, passed away suddenly on January 2, 2007, in Gulfport, Mississippi.
He was born and raised in Everett, Washington, and had recently moved to Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, for an employment opportunity.
Eddie is so dearly missed. He loved his family and was loved so much.
He was a big, strong and private man, a quiet man, yet he had a wonderful rich laugh when something amused him - usually a goofy television show. He loved to read and he loved movies and music. He loved his dog, Spud, who doesn't understand why he is gone. No one does.
Eddie is survived by his mother, Nancy Sue Romerdahl of Oceanside, Calif.; and his sisters and their families, Rebecca and David Villasenor and Angela and Rob Morfitt of California, Tara and Jim Mizell and Beth and Tim Shipe of Washington, Cindi Romerdahl and Rob Gimlich of Massachusetts; and his brother, Eric and Renee Romerdahl of Hawaii. He had several nieces and nephews who are saddened by losing Uncle Eddie. He also leaves Aunt Angela Peterson and Aunt Beth Cantrell and their families, all of California.
He will be missed by his Mississippi family, George and Sonya Cantrell and Sessie and Joey Manieri, and Steve and Debbie Cantrell.
A celebration of Eddie's life is planned for Sunday, January 7, 2007, at Rancho Villasenor in Oceanside, California.
He will be buried near his father, Edward M. "Tom" Romerdahl, next summer in Darrington, Washington.
Our son, brother, nephew, cousin, and uncle will forever be in our hearts.
Nadine Rau
Nadine Rau passed away on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, with her daughter, Nancy Lancaster, by her side. Nadine was 91.
She was born at home in Rocky Ford, Colorado, to Clara and David Pruitt on April 16, 1915.
Nadine spent her childhood in Colorado, and then moved to Tucson, Arizona, in 1932. She met George Rau and married him in 1934. Together they raised their daughter, Nancy, there and Nadine remained in Tucson until 1968, when she came to Escondido to help her daughter raise her three daughters, Kris, Lisa and Suzy.
Nadine's life was defined by the care she took of others. She was a homemaker and expert dressmaker.
She was "Granny" to a hundred children she baby-sat over the years.
If Granny's blue Chevy was in your driveway, all the neighborhoods kids knew there were warm cookies inside! Nadine made prom dresses, wedding gowns and dress suits to order. How many garments were crafted by her skilled hands and were worn with pride by the lucky recipient or customer, perhaps a thousand or more? Her work was beautiful and Granny loved being at home, hers or yours, with something cooking in the kitchen and something to sew in her lap. She warmed every house she was in.
Nadine was preceded in death by her parents, Clara Crume Pruitt and David Isaiah Pruitt; her sister, Billie Marlene Pruitt, and her husband, George Rau.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Lancaster; granddaughters Kristina Nicholas and her partner, Mark De Long, Lisa Nicholas and Suzy Gaxiola and her husband, Mark Gaxiola; great-grandchildren George Nicholas and Gregory Nicholas, and Spencer Nadine Gaxiola and Sumner Pruitt Gaxiola, and her adopted daughter, Jean Gaston, who all loved her deeply. So many others will miss her as well.
A celebration of Nadine's life will be held Saturday, January 27, 2006, at 2 p.m. at the Carefree Ranch Community Center, 211 N. Citrus in Escondido.
If Nadine made an impact on your life, please attend so that together we may share our happy stories of this remarkable woman.
