Orville Bayle, 79
SUN CITY -- Orville R. Bayle, 79, died Monday, July 10, 2006.
Born Sept. 22, 1926, in Grand Rapids, Mich., he lived in Sun City for 10 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of St. Vincent Catholic Church and the Sun City Arts and Crafts. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Mr. Bayle was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Agnes Bayle. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marguerite Bayle of Sun City; sons Robert O. Bayle of Edwardsburg, Mich., Gary Bayle of Liberty, Mo., and Harold Bayle of Haslett, Mich.; daughters Linda Sehler of Simi Valley and Laura Kriscunas of Dove Canyon; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Viewing is scheduled for 3 p.m. today, July 13, at Miller-Jones Mortuary & Crematory in Sun City. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, July 14, at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Sun City. Private inurnment at Riverside National Cemetery is planned.

Derrell Johnson, 73
SUN CITY -- Derrell M. Johnson, 73, died Sunday, July 9, 2006, at his home.
Born May 27, 1933, in Wood River, Wis., he lived in Sun City for 17 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Sun City Bible Church.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Vivian Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Ellen Johnson of Sun City; sons Rick Johnson of Tola, Kan., and Jeffery Johnson of Cave Springs, Ark.; stepson, Wayne Duke of Rio Rancho, N.M.; daughter, Rose Ann Johnson of Tola, Kan.; and stepdaughter, Kathy McCoy of Kansas City, Mo.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, July 14, at Sun City Bible Church in Sun City. Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, July 14, at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Kansas City.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Sun City Bible Church Building Fund or Hospice of the Valleys in Sun City.

Malcolm Mallory, 79
SUN CITY -- Malcolm "Randy" Mallory, 79, died of natural causes, Sunday, July 2, 2006, in Perris.
Born June 11, 1927, in Roanoke, Va., he lived in Sun City for 16 years. He served in the U.S. Navy. He worked for Ivonics in Temecula. He graduated from William and Mary College in Williamsburg, Va. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Petersburg, Va. He played baseball and basketball in college and professional baseball as a pitcher for the Generals of Atlanta. He was a high school football coach and English teacher.
Mr. Mallory is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Mallory of Sun City; sons Malcolm R. Mallory Jr. and John R. Mallory; sister, Rena Mae of Richmond, Va.; and four grandchildren.
A graveside service is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. Friday, July 14, at Riverside National Cemetery.

Clay Freeman, 88
ESCONDIDO - Clay Freeman, 88, died Thursday, June 22, 2006.
Born May 19, 1918, in Oxnard, he lived in Escondido since 1949. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. He attended Ventura Community College.
He later attended Cal Poly Pomona, where he majored in agriculture. He managed an avocado ranch in Orange Glen.
He was very involved with Boy Scout Troop 62 at Lincoln Elementary School. He volunteered for the Boy Scouts for more than 25 years and was awarded the "Silver Beaver Award." He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Escondido.
Mr. Freeman is survived by his wife, Rebecca; son John Clay Freeman of San Juan Bautista; daughter Nina Rebecca Freeman of Stockton, and three grandchildren.
A memorial service was held July 10 at First Congregational Church of Escondido.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to a campership fund set up in the name of Clay Freeman at the Boy Scouts of America, to the First Congregational Church of Escondido and to Camp Fire USA.
Roland Renner, 92
ESCONDIDO - Roland William Renner, 92, died Friday, June 30, 2006, after a brief illness.
Born April 15, 1914, he lived in Escondido since 1992. In 1946, he went to Tanzania in East Africa, under the sponsorship of Augustana Lutheran Mission. He spent 20 years in Africa, teaching farming methods in the African school system and leading the building of the Iambi Leprosarium.
He returned to the United States and completed his studies in ornamental horticulture. He taught at Madison High School in San Diego until 1979. He was a member of the House of Prayer Church and traveled extensively.
Mr. Renner was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie, in 1969; parents Gustav and Elsie Renner; brother Alston; and sister, Lila.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Eleanor Renner of Escondido; sister Isis Westling; sons and daughters-in-law Irvin and Dona, William and Marilyn, Paul and Sandy, and Mark and Janice; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at Redwood Terrace Health Center Pavilion on July 8.
A private burial was held at El Camino Memorial Park.
Aniko Moore, 65
ESCONDIDO - Aniko Moore, 65, died Monday, July 3, 2006, at Pomerado Hospital.
Born May 30, 1941, in Budapest, Hungary, she lived in Escondido for 28 years. She lived in Argentina for 10 years and came to the United States when she was 18. She retired in 2005 as an eligibility technician for San Diego County. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of animals.
Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband of 44 years, Ralph Moore of Escondido; and daughter and son-in-law Janet Moore and Chris Payne of Chicago.
A private family service will be held Saturday, July 15.

ESCONDIDO - Mary N. Davis, 62, died of natural causes, Monday, July 10, 2006, at her home.
Born Nov. 1, 1943, in Lockhart, Texas, she lived in Escondido for 22 years. She retired in 2000 as a computer electronics assembler for Hewlitt-Packard. She enjoyed reading, computer games, camping and outdoor activities.
Ms. Davis is survived by her companion of 22 years, Ronnie Tate of Escondido; sons Kenny Davis of Poway and Rusty Davis of Rancho Bernardo; sister Sarah Vargas of San Antonio; and five grandchildren.
A private cremation is planned.

Josephine Portillo, 75
PALA - Josephine Dolores Portillo, 75, died Monday, July 10, 2006, in Fallbrook.
Born July 17, 1930, in El Centro, she lived in Pala for 17 years. She was a homemaker and a caretaker. She was a member of the Senior Club at the Mission San Antonio de Pala and an elder member of the La Jolla Band of Luiseno Mission Indians.
Ms. Portillo was preceded in death by Daniel Portillo in 2002.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Romaldo and Donna Osuna of Salton City; sisters Adelaide Luna of Fountain Valley and Emma Arellano of Madera; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. and a vigil at 7 p.m. Friday, July 14, at Berry-Bell & Hall Mortuary Chapel in Fallbrook.
A Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 15, at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church on the La Jolla Indian Reservation. Burial will follow at La Jolla Indian Cemetery.

SAN MARCOS - Helyn May Hunter, 90, died Wednesday, July 5, 2006, in La Jolla.
Born Nov. 5, 1915, in Philadelphia, she lived in San Marcos for 24 years. She was a Powers Agency model in her 20s.
She attended Drexel University in Philadelphia. She was a member of the United Church of Lake San Marcos. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, crafts, cooking, painting and volunteering.
Mrs. Hunter was preceded in death by her husband, Charles P. Hunter, in 1997.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Charles P. Hunter Jr. of Ripon, Wis., Craig L. Hunter of San Marcos and Kevin L. Hunter and Yvonne Hom of Sunnyvale; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Her cremains will be scattered at sea, along with those of her husband.

ESCONDIDO - Helen McClean Bradford, 79, died Friday, June 30, 2006.
Born Feb. 17, 1927, in Scotland, she lived in Escondido for 23 years and in San Diego County for 38 years. She was a homemaker and volunteered as a "Pink Lady" at Palomar Medical Center for 15 years. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, arts and crafts and jewelry.
Mrs. Bradford was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Bradford, in 1984.
She is survived by her son, Norman B. Bradford of Escondido; daughters and son-in-law Helen and David Garbe of Silverdale, Wash., and Sandy Goodwin of Escondido; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Born June 24, 1963, in Paracho, Michoacan, Mexico, he lived in Oceanside for 26 years. He was a carpenter for South Coast Framers Inc.
Mr. Morales is survived by his wife of 11 years, Allison L. Morales of Oceanside; parents Juana Mendoza Reyes and Miguel Morales Perez of Paracho, Michoacan, Mexico; daughter Isabelle L. OCEANSIDE - Mark P. Drebushenko, 51, died Saturday, July 8, 2006, at Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside.
Born Jan. 23, 1955, at Camp Pendleton, he lived in Oceanside for 40 years. He graduated from Oceanside High School. He was an automobile mechanic and owned General Service Automotive in Oceanside.
Mr. Drebushenko was preceded in death by his stepfather, John R. Brown, in 1996; sister Linda Luedeman in 2006; and brother-in-law Mike Luedeman in 2005.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Brown of Oceanside; father and stepmother William and Drew Drebushenko of Vista; brothers David W. Drebushenko of Newburgh, Ind., Stephen R. Drebushenko of San Diego, and John P. Brown of Las Vegas; and sisters and brother-in-law Kimberly A. and Rick Lee of Cypress, Texas, and Tina J. Drebushenko of Huntington Beach.

James Kelly, 79
SAN MARCOS - James Kelly, 79, died Monday, July 10, 2006, at a local hospital.
Born Sept. 29, 1926, in Hempstead, N.Y., he lived in San Marcos for several months. He lived in Hemet for four years previously. He was a maintenance supervisor for Grumman Aircraft and retired after 20 years.
He served in the U.S. Army as a TSGT during World War II. He was a member of the Circus Railroad Model Builders Club. He was a distinguished member of the Commodore Nutt Tent No. 165 of Circus Fans Association of America.
Mr. Kelly is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Kelly of San Marcos; sons and daughters-in-law Stephen J. and Pamela Kelly of San Diego and Brian T. and Marianna Kelly of Cheyenne, Wyo.; daughter Peggy L. Merrill of San Marcos; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Viewing is scheduled from noon to 3 p.m. Friday, July 14, at Allen Bros. Mortuary, San Marcos Chapel.

Garrett Eugene Crayton
WILDOMAR - Garrett Eugene Crayton, 36, was called home to rest Thursday, July 6, 2006, in Escondido. He lived in Oceanside for 34 years before moving to Wildomar.
Born July 8, 1969, at University Hospital in San Diego, Garrett attended Laurel Elementary School. He graduated from Jefferson Junior High School and in 1987 graduated from El Camino High School. Garrett attended Pacific Christian College and majored in data processing. He received an Associate Arts Degree in general studies from Mira Costa College. Garrett was a consummate athlete from Little League and Pop Warner to college basketball.
He was a member of Faith Temple Christian Center and served with his parents in ministry. He was a member of the San Luis Rey Downs Country Golf Club, where he played frequently with his dad and members of the church. He worked as a network administrator for Ferro Corporation in Vista, Calif.
Garrett was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Clarence Crayton Sr. and Edward Johnson.
Garrett leaves his loving wife of 13 years, Jill; and three beautiful daughters, Aja, Jiennah and Maia; his parents, Drs. Clarence and Josephine Crayton of Fallbrook, Calif.; grandmothers Willie Young of Oceanside, Calif., Maxine Crayton of Fallbrook, Calif.; and godmother Annette Bolton of Vista, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law Christopher and Tiffany Crayton of Vista, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law Clarence Crayton III and Angela Crayton of Temecula, Calif.; sister and brother-in-law Letrice and Terron Sumpter of Murrieta, Calif., and sister Nichelle Crayton of Fallbrook, Calif.; father and mother-in-law Rodney and Marty Miller of San Marcos, Calif.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dennis and Julie Ungar of Forrest Grove, Ore.; and brother-in-law Jon Miller of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; and best friend, Ashante Moxley and his wife, Tawnia, of Murrieta, Calif.
Garrett is also survived by his nephews, Terron Sumpter Jr., Marquis Sumpter, Caleb Sumpter, Juwan Sumpter, Kyle Crayton, Manley Smith Jr., Tyler Crayton and Kellen Crayton. His nieces J-Daijon Sumpter, Hanniah Crayton, Hannah Ungar, Elizabeth Ungar, Alicia Miller, Riki Miller, Maliah Miller and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and other relatives and friends who will always love and remember Garrett.

William F. Richardson
William "Bill" Richardson died July 8, 2006, of cancer in Escondido. Born Nov. 9, 1954, in Marrietta, Georgia, he lived in Escondido for 42 years.
Bill graduated from Escondido High School in 1972 and was in the automotive supply business working for Fleet Pride. Bill had a zest for life and enjoyed sports. He was active in sports playing semi-pro baseball and softball and was active in the local Little League for many years coaching his sons. He loved his family, friends and sports. He will be remembered as a hard working, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and loyal friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen Beyerle, and stepfather Bob Beyerle; and his father, William C. Richardson. He is survived by his wife, Laura; sons and daughters-in-law Brent and Leslie Richardson of Rancho Bernardo, Steve and Brandi Richardson of Escondido, and Christian Carlson of San Marcos; grandchildren Kylie, Wyatt and Zachary Richardson and Tyler Walker; sister Karen Brennan (Jim) of Orlando, Fla., sister and brother-in-law Marla and Jim Shipman of Redding, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law Mark and Irma Richardson of San Marcos as well as many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held Friday, July 14, at 7 p.m. at Emmanuel Faith Community Church in Escondido with a reception for family and friends following. In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donations to Elizabeth Hospice, 150 W. Crest St., Escondido, CA 92025.
