OCEANSIDE - Mary Alice Cooper, 96, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, at St. John of God Retirement Home in Los Angeles.
Born Oct. 18, 1910, in Los Angeles, she lived in Oceanside for 20 years. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1928 and worked as a legal secretary specializing in probate work in the South Bay area. She was the president of the Inglewood Legal Secretaries Association in 1955. She belonged to the parishes Divine Savior, American Martyrs, St. Margaret Mary and Mission San Luis Rey.
Ms. Cooper was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Deering Cooper and William Cooper; sister Clare Tucker; and brother William Cooper.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services have been held.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to St. Raphael's School, Student Scholarship Fund, 924 W. 70th St., Los Angeles, CA 90044 or the Low Vision Center at St. Mary's Medical Center, 1050 Linden Ave., Long Beach, CA.
