Jack Webb, 84

VISTA -- Jack C. Webb, 84, died Monday, April 16, 2007.

Born Nov. 12, 1922, in Wenatchee, Wash., he lived in Vista for 57 years. He was a systems operator for the San Diego Water Authority for 18 years.

Mr. Webb is survived by his wife, Joan Webb of Vista; and sons Bruce Webb of Sacramento and Carl Webb of Lake Forest.

A memorial is scheduled at his home on Saturday, April 28. For more information call (760) 727-0724.

Edgard Franco-Ferreira, 42

SAN MARCOS -- Edgard Charles Franco-Ferreira, 42, died Monday, April 16, 2007.

Born July 27, 1964, in Oakridge, Tenn., he lived in San Marcos 27 years. He was a construction superintendent at White Construction Co. and in that business for 20 years. He was a coach and sponsor for San Marcos AYSO, San Marcos youth baseball and basketball.

Mr. Franco-Ferreira is survived by his wife of 12 years, Olivia Franco-Ferreira, of San Marcos; parents Lindsay and Edgard A. Franco-Ferreira of Knoxville, Tenn.; and son Sean Tyler Franco-Ferreira of San Marcos.

A celebration of life is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 4, at The Barn at Walnut Grove Park, 1950 Sycamore Drive in San Marcos. A private cremation is planned.

Robert Clough, 82

HEMET -- Robert John Clough, 82, died Saturday, April 14. 2007.

Born June 9, 1925, in Wisconsin, he lived in Hemet. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II in both Guam and Saipan. He was employed by the San Diego Police Dept., the California Highway Patrol, and was the owner/operator of Santa Margarita Escrow in Fallbrook and Temecula.

Services have been held. Burial was in the Riverside National Cemetery.

Larry Wingo, 47

DURANGO, Colo. -- Larry Alan Wingo, 47, died of injuries he received in a truck accident, Monday, April 9, 2007.

Born Nov. 7, 1959, in Escondido, he lived in Durango for 15 years. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association and a member of Pine River Valley Church in Ignacio, Colo.

Mr. Wingo is survived by his parents, Norma J. and Louis A. Wingo of Escondido; and sisters Sharon L. Wingo of Grand Junction and Shirley Wise Wingo of Fernley, Nev.

A graveside service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, at Oak Hill Memorial Park in Escondido with the Rev. Jim Learned officiating.

Virginia Dickinson, 90

FARGO, North Dakota -- Virginia May Dickinson, 90, died Friday, April 6, 2007, at her home

Born Jan. 11, 1917, in Ayr, N.D., she lived in Fargo and in Poway previously. She was employed by Smart & Final Iris for 40 years.

Ms. Dickinson is survived by her niece, Carol Jaque of Sun City; brother Wesley Dickinson; and sister Elaine Hamilton.

A private memorial is planned in Poway.

Robert Madden, 86

MURRIETA -- Robert H. Madden, 86, died of natural causes, Tuesday, April 17, 2007.

Born Aug. 15, 1920, in Seattle, he lived in Murrieta for five years. He earned an master's degree in business and economics. He retired as a commander in the U.S. Navy. He was a membeer of the Hammer Club and Southwestern College Teachers Association. After retiring from the U.S. Navy he taught business and economics at Southwestern College in Chula Vista.

Mr. Madden was preceded in death by his first wife, Eileen Madden, in 1970; and daughter Deeanne Cameron in 1979.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Mildred Madden of Murrieta; stepsons Jim Hester of Altadena; Rick Hester of San Diego and Roy Hester of Murrieta; daughters Kendall Welch of Cardiff, Terrell DeVaney of Corcoran; stepdaughter Debbie Wagner of Danville; brother Kenny Madden of Seattle; sister Virginia Nordean of Cathedral City; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 26, at St. Timothy's in Escondido. His cremains will be scattered.

The family suggests donations to the Robert Madden Memorial Scholarship Fund at Southwestern College, 900 Otay Lakes Road, Chula Vista, CA 91910, Attn: Wanda Maxwell.

Betty Cahan, 85

SAN DIEGO -- Betty Cahan, 85, died Friday, April 20, 2007.

Born July 4, 1921, in Los Angeles, she lived in San Diego 21 years. She was a homemaker for 63 years. She was a member of San Rafael Catholic Church.

Mrs. Cahan was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Cahan. She is survived by her sons, Robert Cahan of Poway and James Cahan of Boise, Idaho; daughters Linda Nunes of Auburn and Carol Hider of Fortuna; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Private services are planned.

Jonathan Faulstick, 5

BONSALL -- Jonathan Luke Faulstick, 5, died Thursday, April 17, 2007.

Born May 10, 2002, at Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside, he lived in Bonsall for two years. He attended Faith Lutheran School. He attended occupational and physical therapy at the Vista Medical Therapy Unit. He attended preschool at Vista's California Avenue School. He enjoyed his musical toys, his dog, horses, music and television shows.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, April 23, at Faith Lutheran Church in Vista followed by interment at the Mission San Luis Rey cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Jonathan Faulstick Memorial Fund that will be used to build a new gymnasium, meeting rooms, kitchen and classrooms at Faith Lutheran Church and school. Robert Brockie, 82

OCEANSIDE -- Robert John Brockie, 82, died Sunday, April 15, 2007, in Oceanside.

Mr. Brockie was born June 22, 1924, in Los Angeles. He served in the Navy on the USS Boise at Guadalcanal in the South Pacific theater during World War II.

He was a police officer for the city of Newport Beach until he retired in 1979. He lived in Oceanside for six years. He was a member of Calvary Chapel in Oceanside and the Retired Newport Beach Police Officers Association. He enjoyed fishing and camping, and especially being with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne Brockie, in 1999.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Jan and Russ Arant of Oceanside, and Joni and Bruce Sonnenberg of Lake Forest; sons and daughters-in-law Rick and Linda Brockie of Medford, Oregon, and Robert Jr. and Leila Brockie of Montana; brother Buddy Grace of Arizona; sister-in-law Maurine Brockie of Aliso Viejo; sister Jane Rotstan of Irvine; 15 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Burney District Cemetery in Burney, Calif.

Samuel Dedeian, 84

POWAY -- Samuel Drake Dedeian, 84, died Thursday, April 19, 2007, in San Diego.

Born Aug. 8, 1922, in Willis, Michigan, Mr. Dedeian lived in Poway for 49 years. He served in the U.S. Navy as a machinist, third class, during World War II, and later in the Merchant Marines. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Poway, and loved to hunt, fish and play golf.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joan Dedeian of Poway; son Ricardo Dedeian of El Cajon; daughter Suzette Hines of Poway; brother Charles Dedeian of Vanderhoof, British Columbia, Canada; and two grandchildren.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, at Poway Bernardo Mortuary, 13243 Poway Road, in Poway. Private inurnment is planned at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 2655 Camino Del Rio North, San Diego, CA 92108.

Roger Johnson, 77

VALLEY CENTER -- Roger Knox Johnson, 77, died Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at his home in Valley Center.

Born July 9, 1929 in Columbus, Ohio, he lived in Valley Center for 14 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1948 to 1952, and later owned an agriculture business.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lyn Johnson, of Valley Center; daughters and sons-in-law Julie and Glenn Castan of San Diego and Wendy and Dave Jackson of Hydesville, Calif.; and grandchildren Alex, Kelsey, Jimmy and Gail.

Services will be private, with Father Joe Patronik officiating.

The family suggests memorial donations to San Diego Hospice, the Episcopal Church United Thanks offering, or a charity of choice. McLeod Mortuary is handling arrangements.

John Kenney, 91

OCEANSIDE -- John Joseph Kenney, 91, a long-time Oceanside resident, died Wednesday, April 18, 2007, in San Jose.

Born Jan. 1, 1916, in Missouri Valley, Iowa, Mr. Kenney lived in Oceanside for 35 years before moving to San Jose in the summer of 2003. He worked for the Postal Service for 35 years, served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was a member of Knights of Columbus No. 3162.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Verda L. Kenney, on Dec. 14, 2003.

He is survived by daughter and son-in-law Carol Ann and Larry Fernando of San Jose.

Visitation and viewing will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m., at Eternal Hills Mortuary, 1999 El Camino Real, in Oceanside.

Entombment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, 5835 W. Larson Ave., Culver City, Calif.

Marie Le Clair, 90

ENCINITAS -- Marie Yvonne Le Clair, 90, died Sunday, April 8, 2007, in Encinitas.

She was born March 9, 1917, in Minnesota. Ms. Le Clair retired as a lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy after 22 years of service.

Her funeral will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at Eternal Hills Mortuary in Oceanside.

Frank Openshaw, 76

SAN DIEGO -- Frank Lloyd Openshaw, 76, died Thursday, April 19, 2007, in San Diego.

Born Aug. 17, 1930, in San Francisco, Mr. Openshaw lived in San Diego for 34 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, and later worked at General Dynamics. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, ping pong and pool.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Virginia Openshaw, of San Diego; sons Charles Openshaw of San Diego and Mike Dobell of Poway; daughters Deena Fahrnkopf of Poway, Christine Simmons of Knoxville, Tenn., Rebecca Openshaw of Escondido, and Amanda Jump of Colorado Springs, Colo.; brother Charles Porter of Hemet; sister Elaine West of Roseville; and 13 grandchildren.

A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at Poway Bernardo Mortuary, 13243 Poway Road, Poway, with Pastor Barry Click officiating. Private inurnment will be at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.

Larry Robinson, 59

VISTA -- Larry Keith Robinson, 59, died Tuesday, April 10, 2007, in Vista.

Born April 25, 1947, in San Diego, he lived in Vista for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army for three years and was a medic in the Vietnam War. He later attended San Diego State, where he played football for coach Don Coryell. He became a plumber and pipefitter by trade, and loved to build and race cars at the San Diego Speedway.

Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife of 32 years, Laura F. Robinson of Vista; daughters Anna Marie Robinson and Laura Suzanne Robinson, both of Vista; and grandson Nathan.

A public graveside service will begin at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, at Eternal Hills in Oceanside.

Robert E. Robson, 90

ESCONDIDO -- Robert E. Robson, 90, died Friday, April 20, in Escondido.

Born Sept. 4, 1916, in Pennsylvania, he lived in Escondido for four years. Mr. Robson served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and worked for Mobil Oil Co. until his retirement in 1977.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lucille, of Escondido; and daughter and son-in-law Roberta and Allan Chapas of Escondido.
