Candidates running for the Oceanside City Council are scheduled to face off at a forum at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in City Council chambers. 300 N. Coast Highway.
Sponsored by the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce, the forum will be broadcast live by KOCT-TV on Channel 18.
Running in the June 8 special election are former bakery owner Charles "Chuck" Lowery; Michael Lucas, a retired supervisor for the state Bureau of Automotive Repair; business management consultant Lloyd Prosser; financial planner Ward O'Doherty; and civilian police supervisor Ken Crossman.
The election is to fill the unexpired term of former Councilman Rocky Chavez, who resigned in December. The term runs through November.
