NORTH COUNTY ---- Chevron Corporation announced Thursday that it will give an additional $7 million to nonprofit programs across the state, including some programs at work in local schools.
The company's California Partnership develops relationships with nonprofit groups focused on education and economic development. In total, the partnership expects to give $28 million to various nonprofit groups this year.
Among those groups are Project Lead The Way ---- which provides science, math and technology lessons for middle and high school students ---- and Teach America, which places teachers in low-performing schools.
