OCEANSIDE -- Smoke and flames seen near the Oceanside Municipal Airport on Thursday afternoon were the product of a permitted burn scheduled by the city, fire dispatchers said.
The brush-clearing burn was concluding at about 3:30 p.m., dispatchers said.
Residents reported seeing and smelling smoke in Oceanside, Fallbrook and Bonsall.
