OCEANSIDE -- A woman and a girl were shot in a parking lot Saturday night in a possible incident of road rage, Oceanside police said.

The shooting occurred at 9:30 p.m. outside the Lowe's Home Improvement warehouse at 155 Old Grove Road, Sgt. Steve Regalado said. One victim was wounded in the leg and the other in the shoulder, he said.

Both were conscious at the scene and were taken to a hospital, Regalado said. Their names and conditions were not available.

Regalado said that before the shooting, the victims had been in a traffic collision, and that their assailant was believed to have been in the other car involved in the crash.

It was not clear whether the collision was in the parking lot or somewhere else, the sergeant said. No arrest had been made as of 10:15 p.m.

Late in the evening, dozens of officers were collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses in a taped-off area that took up most of the parking lot.
