ENCINITAS -- A bicyclist was hurt in a crash with a North County Transit District bus Wednesday in Encinitas, authorities said.

The incident was reported at 5:11 p.m. on East E Street just west of south Vulcan Avenue, Encinitas sheriff's Deputy Matt Clay said. The bus was traveling east on E Street when it struck the cyclist west on E Street, Clay said.

The bicyclist, an adult male, was taken to the trauma center at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, where he was treated for injuries not believed to be life-threatening. Fault in the crash had not been determined Wednesday night, Clay said.
