POWAY ---- A Poway woman was killed Monday morning when a vehicle veered onto the sidewalk and struck her, according to authorities.
Kristen Ann Bedard, 36, was walking northbound on Community Road south of Aubrey Street at about 7 a.m. when the vehicle travelling southbound hit her, according to the medical examiner' office. The woman suffered traumatic injuries and died at the scene.
The driver is believed to have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol, according to the medical examiner's report.
Sheriff's deputies are investigating the incident.
