SAN MARCOS -- Local children will have a chance to learn about Mother Earth during a free program Wednesday at the San Marcos Community Center.

Mary Beach will play the role of Mother Earth during the 2 p.m. event, the latest in a series being offered as part of the San Marcos Library's 2008 summer reading program. The schedule also includes a July 30 science event and an Aug. 27 puppet show.
