SAN MARCOS - Two thieves stole an undisclosed amount of cash Tuesday morning from a San Marcos restaurant in what might be another robbery targeting Taco Bells, authorities said.
They said the descriptions of the men who hit the Taco Bell at 120 N. Rancho Santa Fe Drive appeared to be similar to a team that held up a Vista Taco Bell on Thursday and one in Escondido on Friday.
In both of those holdups, one of the men was described as black and the other as Latino.
"It sounds like it may be related," sheriff's Sgt. Dave Schaller said about Monday's theft. "An employee was robbed by them before."
Unlike the earlier thefts where a knife was used, no weapon was seen during the robbery about 9:45 a.m. in San Marcos, deputies said.
Lt. William Donahue said the pair escaped in an older white Honda CRV, a two-door hatchback car.
