SAN MARCOS -- Four drivers were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs at a sobriety checkpoint Friday night, a sheriff's sergeant said.
Deputies inspected 236 of 5,353 vehicles that passed through the checkpoint held in the 800 block of West San Marcos Boulevard from 7 p.m. Friday until 1 a.m. Saturday, Sgt. Cliston Hensley said.
In addition to the drunken driving arrests, deputies also arrested two people on felony drug charges and two people on additional alcohol-related misdemeanors.
