SAN MARCOS -- Firefighters responded Thursday to a car fire in the parking lot of the Original Roadhouse Grill restaurant in the 100 block of Knoll Road.

The fire was reported at about 11:30 a.m. The engine compartment of an unoccupied 1998 Ford Explorer was fully in flames when firefighters arrived, but the fire did not spread to other vehicles and no injuries were reported, according to officials.

The cause of the fire was unknown Thursday, but officials said the fire was not suspicious.

The Explorer was a total loss.
