SAN DIEGO - San Diego police officers used a stun gun and pepper spray to subdue a pair of assailants following an outbreak of violence that caused injuries to a bus passenger in Linda Vista, authorities said today.
The officers were at Linda Vista Road and Ulric Street around 4:45 p.m. yesterday investigating an incident in which a man had allegedly struck a San Diego Metropolitan Transit bus window with a golf club, causing facial cuts to one person, San Diego police said.
During the investigation, the officers saw two people assaulting another person, said police Sgt. Bob Dare said.
The officers intervened, using pepper spray against a 27-year-old man and a stun gun against the the teenager after he threatened them with a knife, he said.
The 27-year-old man was later determined to have been the same person who injured the bus passenger, Dare said.
The man and the teenager were taken into custody, the sergeant said.
