SAN DIEGO - A former Carlsbad resident who acknowledged that she failed to disclose to a bankruptcy court the existence of more than $400,000 in a Swiss bank account was sentenced today to six months of home confinement.

Agnes Kyung Kim, 54, pleaded guilty last July 20 to concealment of assets in a bankruptcy proceeding.

A New Hampshire federal judge sentenced the defendant after the case was transferred to that state at Kim's request, said prosecutor Carlos Arguello.

As part of her sentence, Kim also agreed to forfeit to the U.S. government the current amount in the Swiss bank account, which has grown to more than $650,000, Arguello said.
