SANTA YSABEL INDIAN RESERVATION -- Tribal officials from the Santa Ysabel Band of Diegueno Mission Indians announced Tuesday the opening of their new casino.
Officials said the facility near Lake Henshaw is scheduled to open April 12. When it opens, it will join four other American Indian casinos in North County.
"People will come to Santa Ysabel Casino and Resort for the gaming, but they will stay for the dining, entertainment and amenities we have to offer," said Johnny Hernandez, chairman of the tribe.
The 35,000-square-foot complex will have a wide variety of gambling and entertainment amenities, including blackjack, poker and 349 slot machines. It will also include a buffet restaurant, and a brewery-style bar and lounge.
