TEMECULA - A lawsuit filed one year ago by a Temecula family alleging that their daughter was sexually harassed by her former teacher has been settled.

The settlement, brokered last month, included a confidentiality clause and thus its details cannot be disclosed, a representative of the family said.

The lawsuit was filed against the Temecula Valley Unified School District after a former teacher at Great Oak High School allegedly harassed the female student.

The lawsuit claimed he had used profanity in the classroom, explained academic lessons with sexual connotations and once had students, including the female student cited in the lawsuit, read from a George Carlin book that had sexually explicit content and derogatory phrases about women.

Although a criminal investigation took place, no charges were ever filed against the teacher.
