Kristi Rutz-Robbins ran in 2006
TEMECULA -- Educator Kristi Rutz-Robbins filed paperwork Thursday to run for a seat on the Temecula Valley Unified School District's board.
Rutz-Robbins, who earned a doctorate in history, has taught at the University of San Diego and Cal State San Marcos. She ran for the school board in 2006 and placed seventh in a crowded field for three seats.
Rutz-Robbins said in 2006 that she wanted to ensure trustees put children's needs first, establish "effective and respectful" communication, and promote arts, music and physical education.
The four-year terms of Trustees Barbara Tooker and Stewart Morris are set to expire this year. Tooker has said she will not seek re-election. Morris has not said whether he will run again.
Rutz-Robbins is the second person, along with oral surgeon D. Allen Pulsipher, to file for the November race.
Candidates have until Aug. 8 to qualify for the ballot.
