TEMECULA -- The Temecula boy who invented a product he calls "Pencil Bugs" will be on the NBC game show "1-vs-100" scheduled to air locally at 8 p.m. Friday night.

Jason O'Neill will be a member of what is called "the mob" on the program.

Friday's show will add a twist to the usual premise of the game. Typically, one adult contestant faces off against "the mob" of 100 other adults with various backgrounds.

The object is for the single contestant to answer trivia questions for a chance at $1 million. If the contestant misses a question, the money is evenly distributed among "the mob."

However, Friday's show will have all kids in "the mob." It is being touted by NBC, which broadcasts locally as Channel 4, as "One adult versus 100 genius kids."

Jason came up with the idea for and has marketed his Pencil Bugs, which have little Styrofoam heads with antennae and eyes, complete with pipe-cleaner bodies wrapped around the pencil.

Each one comes with its own Certificate of Authenticity, which includes its name, the day it was "born" and instructions on the proper care and training of a Pencil Bug.
