VISTA - Officials working to open a construction-themed charter school in Vista next year will hold an informational meeting Tuesday for prospective students and their parents.

The North County Trade Tech High School open house will be help from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Gloria E. McClellan Senior Center, 1400 Vale Terrace Drive.

It will feature hands-on projects that will give parents and students an idea of what the school's project-based curriculum will be like, organizers said. The school will focus on preparing students for jobs in the construction industries.

Though the school is still searching for a home, organizers have said they expect to open the school in September 2008 with 100 freshmen, and expand over the next three years to serve as many as 400 students in grades nine through 12.

More information on the school is available online at www.tradetechhigh.org.
