WILDOMAR ---- An armed man held up the Chase branch in Wildomar on Tuesday afternoon and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash, authorities said.
Police were called about 2 p.m. to the bank on Hidden Springs Road in the Bear Creek Village shopping center. The shopping center is just off Interstate 15 at the southbound offramp to Clinton Keith Road.
The gunman, described as a short, Latino man in his mid- to late 20s, walked into the bank and demanded money, said Riverside County sheriff's Deputy Melissa Nieburger.
"He did have a semi-automatic handgun tucked in his waistband, which he showed, but did not point at anyone," Nieburger said.
The robber then fled in what witnesses described as a newer-model dark maroon Toyota Tacoma pickup, Nieburger said.
No one was injured and the investigation is continuing.
Anyone with information is asked to call Wildomar police at 951-245-3000.
