WILDOMAR ---- The possibility of joining a regional agency building an animal shelter in Wildomar is scheduled for the City Council's consideration Wednesday.
City administrators are recommending the council form a committee to evaluate whether Wildomar should join the Southwest Communities Financing Authority.
The authority is a coalition of Lake Elsinore, Canyon Lake, Murrieta and Temecula as well as the county. They formed the agency to finance the shelter under construction at Mission Trail and Corydon Street. Like those cities, Wildomar relies on Animal Friends of the Valleys for animal control services and that group's shelter in Lake Elsinore, which the new facility will replace. Wildomar became a city in 2008, long after the authority's formation.
On Wednesday, an authority adviser is expected to make a presentation on the authority and shelter.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Wildomar City Hall, 23873 Clinton Keith Road.
