Annexation is a win-win for all
The decision by the Local Agency Formation Commission to approve Temecula's annexation request is a win-win situation for all parties involved ("Temecula annexation gets green light," June 25). It is a victory for Temecula residents who claim the annexation has nothing to do with Liberty Quarry. Temecula can now go ahead with the annexation process and prove that it is not a thinly veiled attempt to stop the quarry.
It is a victory for Granite Construction, who can now proceed with Liberty Quarry as planned. It is a double victory for all other residents of Riverside County. If successful, Temecula's annexation will relieve Riverside County of its obligation to provide costly services there. Also, it will result in a windfall for Riverside County in the form of tax revenue generated by Liberty Quarry. I don't see how anyone can be disappointed with LAFCO's decision.

More and more, every day
More and more, every day, we find ourselves at the mercy of the banking industry. There is no mercy with these banking entities. We pay more and more for vital services that we all need because the banks have the money we need to provide for the necessities of living in America. So, they charge us for access to these funds, more and more, every day.
I see there are certain individuals who can't be satisfied in acquiring money. These people are greedy and gain their wealth at the cost of the American people needing these funds to live, more and more, every day.
Wall Street needs to learn humility, humbleness and satisfaction in amounts of money equal to the sweat of our nation. We need to block them and have their heads if they cannot reform to honest and responsible charges for the money loaned or invested. Loan sharks, more and more, every day.

There are some who support the quarry
Sometimes I read the Community Voices section before I read the cartoons, because often the letters are more humorous. After reading Jerri Arganda's letter of June 25, I couldn't stop laughing at her conspiracy theory. Ms. Arganda claims that we who support the sensible and beneficial Liberty Quarry are somehow organized and compensated by the evil corporate giant, Granite Corporation. She can't believe that many people see the benefits of the quarry and actually think that it would benefit the area with jobs and new spending.
The "NIMBYZ" (Not In My Back Yard Zealots) love to think of themselves as a grass-roots movement. I see them as an agenda-driven group, dreaming of their hippie protest days of the '60s, where "grass-roots" meant smoking it!
