SAN PEDRO - The swimming area at Cabrillo Beach near San Pedro reopened Friday, two days after a 10,000-gallon sewage spill forced its closure.
Los Angeles County public health officials closed three-quarters of a mile of the beach on Wednesday, a day after the spill.
"Our first priority is to protect the health and safety of the people who visit the beach and water areas," said Dr. Jonathan Fielding, county public health director.
