Arts & Entertainment Events
Press releases should be typed, with basic information about an event, performance dates and times, location, ticket prices and a public information number. Two to three weeks before the event, send information to:
Business Briefs
We welcome information about company promotions, seminars, club or group meetings with speakers, conferences, trade shows, or other events of interest to the business community. Meetings must be open to the general public.
Celebrations
Notices of engagements, weddings and anniversaries are published as soon as possible after they are received. Anniversaries of 25 years or greater are published at each five-year mark (25, 30, 35, etc.) until the 60th, when they may be published yearly. Black and white or color photos are acceptable. If a photo is of antique or sentimental value, please do not send us the original. Digital photos must be in jpeg format at 200-plus dpi.
Photos may be picked up at the reception desk 10 days after the announcement has been published. You may enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope to have the picture returned to you by mail. Although we try to ensure the return of all photos once they have appeared in the paper, the North County Times cannot be responsible for lost or damaged photos.
To have an announcement form sent to you, call 760/839-3333, e-mail us or see the Web forms at Web Services.
Community/School News/Prep Arts
If your club, organization or school plans an event that is open to the public, send a news release 10-14 days in advance. If your group or school recently held an event or recognized a member, send a photo. Include the names of everyone in the photo, naming them from left to right as you view the photo, and please name the person who took the photo. Also, please include a contact name and phone number. Digital photos must be in jpeg format at 200-plus dpi.
Community Sports
We publish community sports information every Thursday and Sunday. Sports results should be provided by the league chairman, and include first and last names of participants. E-mail is preferred, but typed materials and photos (non-returnable) may be dropped off at, or mailed to, the Escondido office. Digital photos must be in JPEG format and 200-plus dpi. Try-out and sign-up information must be received three weeks prior to event.
Features
The North County Times feature sections include Food, Faith & Values, Home Page, Life & Times, Books, Trips and Social Scene. We welcome feature story ideas and local news items about upcoming events, classes, workshops and special appearances pertinent to each of our sections.

Letters To the Editor
The North County Times is committed to an open letters forum. We invite letters on topics of public interest and make every effort to print them all.
Writers must include full name, address and daytime phone number. We edit for taste, clarity, length and to avoid libel. Letters should be less than 200 words and will be further shortened when possible to make space for more letters. Writers are limited to one letter every two weeks. Priority is given to North County writers. Commercial complaints and endorsements are not published. Unsigned letters will be discarded.
Letters To Preview
We welcome signed letters regarding the arts in North County. Letters may be edited for taste, clarity, length and to avoid libel. They should be 150 words or less.
