SAN DIEGO -- After some uncertainty about a potential playoff game, one thing now is certain: The San Diego Shockwave indoor football team will not be playing another game in San Diego this season.

The Shockwave had been in negotiations with the Wyoming Cavalry and Fayetteville (N.C.) Guard as well as the league offices in trying to set a date for a potential playoff game.

But Wyoming (7-1) and Fayetteville (10-0) have left the National Indoor Football League, found separate sponsorship and come to an agreement to play the Indoor Football League Bowl tonight in Fayetteville.

"We're still hoping to play the winner, but it will be at their venue," said Shockwave co-owner Jeff Sprowls.

Sprowls' father, Bob, will be in Fayetteville tonight to try to negotiate a potential playoff game involving the Shockwave.
