PADRES NOTES: Bell thrilled to join Gonzalez on All-Star team
SAN DIEGO ---- Heath Bell said he was excited to hear his name announced alongside Adrian Gonzalez's for the National League All-Star team on Sunday. The reliever, who has converted 23 of 24 save opportunities, said his main goal since he was acquired by the Padres in a November 2006 trade from the New York Mets was to prove he belonged in the majors.
