VISTA -- It didn't matter who was throwing. Oceanside Valley Little League's Dylan Navarro was hitting.
The left-handed Majors All-Star was 3-for-4 with seven RBIs, including a grand slam, as Oceanside Valley routed Rancho Buena Vista Little League 16-6 in five innings at the District 28 South Tournament at Optimist Field.
In the semifinals, Oceanside Valley will face the winner of today's 1 p.m. Oceanside National-Vista American game. RBV, which won 24 straight games last year before losing to Hawaii in the U.S. Championship, plays in the elimination bracket at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
Navarro's home run, which came off a lefty reliever, was the big hit in the top of the third inning as Oceanside Valley scored 11 runs to jump ahead 12-3. Navarro also had a two-run single in the frame and later added an RBI single.
"I don't face (lefties) a lot, but when I do I hit them pretty well," Navarro said. "I just wanted to hit it hard because the bases were loaded, and I wanted to score some runs."
Isaih Jackson, Matthew Macey, Mo Wells and Robert Hayashi each scored two runs. So did Anthony Vaeao, who hit his second monster home run in two games. Max Burdette pitched two scoreless innings of relief in the victory.
Eric Hartshorn and Austin Guzzon had RBI singles for RBV.
Vista National and Oceanside American also meet in the elimination bracket at 3:30 p.m. today.

TODAY
The Chargers know the California's public dollars often stop far from paying for a new sports facility. That's why, when sifting through options in replacing Qualcomm Stadium, the Chargers say they don't anticipate taxpayer dough. But how did other cities erect NFL stadiums? How did other municipalities find the funds to swing open the pearly gates of tony new venues? The Chargers might be able to follow the lead of teams like the Cardinals, Cowboys, Giants and Jets.
MONDAY
Eight NFL teams will play in stadiums in suburban and satellite communities this fall, with the Arizona Cardinals' new home in Glendale, Ariz., becoming the most recent addition. With cash-strapped San Diego unwilling to finance a replacement for aging Qualcomm Stadium and the Chargers allowed to relocate as early as 2008, Chula Vista may become the ninth.
TUESDAY
San Diego State is joined at the hip with the Chargers in the professional entity's quest for a new football facility. If the Chargers ultimately leave town, the Aztecs eventually will need a new place to play. If the Chargers remain in San Diego and get the new stadium they crave, the Aztecs may find themselves playing in a brand new state-of-the-art football-only facility. But there is a catch -- to fully work for San Diego State, a new stadium needs to be located at least remotely close to Montezuma Mesa.
