SAN DIEGO -- The Chargers announced the signings of 17 undrafted free agents on Monday, including University of San Diego defensive standout Eric Bakhtiari and San Diego State offensive lineman Brandyn Dombrowski.

Bakhtiari played defensive end at USD but will be tried at outside linebacker by the Chargers. He recorded 20 sacks last season and was named the Pioneer Football League Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive campaign. He also set a Toreros' single-game record with five sacks in a mid-October game against Drake.

Dombrowski, a guard, started 35 games over parts of four seasons with the Aztecs, including every game as a sophomore and junior. Dombrowski was one of two guards added Monday; the other is Maryland's Andrew Crummey.

The Chargers also added offensive tackle Tyler Luellen of Missouri. Luellen was a three-year starter at Missouri and a second-team All-Big 12 selection as a senior.

Luellen joins seventh-round draft pick Corey Clark of Texas A&M and practice-squad player Tony Pape as players competing for a backup tackle position behind starters Marcus McNeill and Jeromey Clary. The Chargers also might add an experienced veteran at a later date, pending moves by NFL squads.

The Chargers drafted cornerbacks Antoine Cason and DeJuan Tribble in this past weekend's draft but signed two more corners Monday in Baylor's Josh Bell and Idaho's Stanley Franks. They also added Texas Christian safety Brian Bonner.

The rest of the undrafted free agents include four wide receivers, one tight end, one fullback, one H-back, two defensive tackles and a punter/kicker.
