ESCONDIDO ---- A strong rushing attack and two special teams touchdowns pushed the Calvin Christian School football team to a 49-13 thrashing of Chula Vista Calvary Christian on Friday.
The Crusaders (4-3, 4-0 Southern League) rushed for 226 yards on only 18 carries. David Estelle scored two touchdowns and ran for 95 yards on just five carries.
Thomas Salzman recovered a blocked punt in the end zone to give Calvin Christian a 21-0 lead in the fourth quarter, and teammate Lane Gregg later returned a kickoff 77 yards for a touchdown.
Quarterback Jake Bons, Joe Cavallier and Joe Ricci each ran for a touchdown for the Crusaders.
