SAN DIEGO -- Scripps Ranch High shook off the rust from last week's bye to beat Westview 41-21 in the quarterfinals of the CIF San Diego Section Division II playoffs.
"We came out flat because of the bye," Falcons running back Brennan Clay said. "We were itching to get on the field. We were probably too pumped up and wired up."
Clay finished with 189 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 20 carries. Clay also had six receptions for 66 yards.
Westview quarterback Tommy Hansen had 274 yards passing.
Scripps Ranch quarterback Tate Forcier completed 27-of-39 passes for 328 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. Forcier also had nine carries for 84 yards and an interception at cornerback.
