RAMONA -- Ramona proved itself a force to be reckoned with in the CIF San Diego Section, beating defending Division I champion Poway 17-7 Friday night.
Poway (1-2) is one of three section champions from 2007 that Ramona (3-0) scheduled for this season.
The Bulldogs held North County's leading rusher, Nick Ricciardulli, to 50 yards on 18 carries and one touchdown.
Ramona's Joey Dambrose led the Bulldogs with 18 carries for 72 yards and one touchdown.
