Lauren Campfield finished with a time of 18 minutes, 14 seconds and Pilar Plummer posted a personal-best 19:35 as Great Oak's girls gross country team took first place in the Big Sky League finals Saturday at Moreno Valley Calvary Chapel. The Wolfpack, running as an freelance team, was unable to claim the title due to CIF rules, though the scoreboard clearly reflected their status as the winner.

Christiana Lang (19:42) and Jessica Barnard (19:56) also posted stellar times for Great Oak in the race. The Wolfpack are currently ranked sixth in the CIF-Southern Section Division IV rankings, and have qualified for the CIF prelims at Mt. SAC.

In boys cross country,

Woodcrest Christian 18, Great Oak 71, Murrieta Calvary Chapel 79 -- At the Big Sky League finals at Moreno Valley Calvary Chapel, Great Oak's Will Griffin, Christian Harding and Rueben Moreno all ran sub-18-minute times but couldn't lift Great Oak to a league title in their last race of the season.
