OCEANSIDE -- Five more officers will be promoted Monday morning at the Oceanside Police Department. Sgts. Mike Goldsmith and Rick Sing will receive lieutenant's bars, said Karen McDonough, police spokeswoman.

Cpls. Rich Browning, Kelan Poorman and Chuck Whalen will get their sergeant's stripes.

The department has promoted a lieutenant to captain and hired a captain within recent months because captains have retired or will retire soon.
